Custom joinery for boats and marine interiors.
Cabinetry designed for a moving, moisture-exposed environment — without losing the fit and finish of a considered interior.
Cabinetry designed for a marine environment.
Marine joinery has to do everything residential cabinetry does — store, organise, finish a space — while also handling movement, vibration and constant exposure to moisture and salt air. On the Gold Coast, that means boat cabinetry gets assessed against a different brief from the outset: what happens to this joint, this hardware, this finish, when the vessel is underway.
Space on a boat is planned in three dimensions at once. A galley, berth or saloon has to fit around hull curvature, fixed services and headroom, so marine interiors are typically built to a specific vessel rather than a repeatable module — every locker, drawer and shelf earning its place in a genuinely tight footprint.
Materials and hardware are selected with that environment in mind — moisture-appropriate timber and sheet products, fixings and hinges chosen for vibration rather than a static wall-mounted cabinet, and finishes detailed to cope with condensation and salt air rather than a dry residential interior.

Selection suited to moisture, salt air and constant movement.A newer, smaller part of what we build.
Marine joinery is a genuine capability at ALTA, applying the same design and manufacture discipline we use across kitchens, wardrobes and cabinetry to a very different set of constraints. It's a smaller and newer part of what we do than our residential and commercial joinery.
If you have a marine joinery project — a refit, a new cabinetry fit-out, or a specific piece for a vessel — get in touch and tell us about it. A few photos of the space, or of the vessel itself, are a good place to start the conversation.
